Lazy Wallet Terms of Service

Effective date: July 25, 2026
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Document version: 1.0-alpha

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Tilak Thapa, operating as jrTilak (“jrTilak,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), regarding your use of the Lazy Wallet application, API, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing, registering for, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service for another person or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on their behalf.

2. Eligibility and availability

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms.

The Service is available worldwide where its use is lawful. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.

3. What Lazy Wallet provides

Lazy Wallet is a manual-first personal finance record-keeping tool. It allows users to organize wallets, balances, income and expense records, categories, contacts, notes, tags, attachments, and related summaries.

Lazy Wallet does not connect to, hold, transfer, receive, lend, invest, or manage real money. It is not a bank, digital wallet, payment provider, lender, broker, accountant, or financial or legal adviser.

4. Alpha service and pricing

The current Service is an alpha release. It may contain errors, incomplete features, interruptions, or material changes. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed, and data may be lost or reset during alpha development. You should retain independent copies of important financial information and attachments.

Access is free until a stable release. Before or at stable release, we may decide whether the Service remains free or introduces paid features. We will disclose any price and applicable payment terms before charging you. There will be no retroactive charge for your prior alpha use.

5. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from a security failure attributable to us. Notify us promptly at contact@jrtilak.dev if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not create an account using another person’s identity or access another user’s account without authorization.

6. Your records and attachments

You retain ownership of the records, text, files, and other content you submit to the Service (“User Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, transmit, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and support the Service.

You are responsible for your User Content and must have the right to submit it, including personal information or documents concerning another person. Do not upload unlawful material, malware, or content that infringes another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights.

Records are based on information supplied by users. We do not independently verify their accuracy, authenticity, ownership, or legality. An attachment may support a record, but it does not make the record legally valid, certified, or admissible as evidence.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive activity;
  • attempt to access another account, restricted system, or non-public data;
  • upload malicious code or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
  • bypass security, usage limits, or access controls;
  • infringe another person’s rights or disclose their information unlawfully;
  • copy, modify, redistribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
  • represent that Lazy Wallet has certified or legally verified a user-created record.

8. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate a violation, protect users or the Service, comply with law, or address a security or operational risk. A serious or repeated violation may result in permanent account termination. Where practicable, we will provide notice, but immediate action may be taken when necessary.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Self-service account deletion is not available in the current alpha and is under development for a future release. Until it becomes available, contact contact@jrtilak.dev for the account and data options currently available.

When an account is terminated, the right to access the account and the application license granted under these Terms end. Associated information is then handled according to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

9. Ownership and application license

The Service, including its source code, design, branding, binaries, assets, and documentation, is owned by jrTilak or its applicable licensors and is protected by law.

Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use an authorized copy of the application for personal record keeping. No other right is granted. The repository License continues to govern the proprietary source materials.

Install the APK only through a distribution channel authorized by jrTilak. Locally distributed releases may require you to install updates manually. We are not responsible for modified or unofficial builds.

All balances, totals, contact obligations, and summaries are calculated from user-entered data and may be wrong or incomplete. Do not rely on the Service as the sole basis for a payment, tax filing, legal claim, audit, accounting decision, or other important financial decision. You are responsible for checking your records and obtaining qualified professional advice where appropriate.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information the Service handles and how it is used. By using the Service, you acknowledge those practices.

12. Third-party services

The Service may rely on third-party authentication, hosting, database, storage, network, or device services. Your use of those services may also be governed by their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, but this clause does not limit any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Changes to the Service or these Terms

During alpha, we may update these Terms without an advance waiting period. We will notify users through the application, email, our website, or another reasonable channel, and the update may take effect when notified.

After the stable release, we will provide at least seven days’ advance notice before a material change takes effect, unless an earlier change is required for law, security, fraud prevention, or an urgent technical reason.

Your continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the alpha Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, preservation of all data, or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, jrTilak is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data arising from use of or inability to use the Service.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or any other non-excludable legal obligation.

For any claim that cannot lawfully be excluded, liability is limited to direct loss that was reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by a breach, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Before filing a claim, please contact contact@jrtilak.dev so we can attempt to resolve the issue.

Any unresolved dispute will be subject to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Nepal, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

17. General terms

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any additional terms expressly presented for a feature form the agreement governing your use of the Service.
